The 2018 Karts & Kebabs Rules & Regulations are as follows:

1) Drivers

1.1 A Driver will become a Registered Driver once he has paid the entry fee (see Section 7 for Costs).

1.2 In an event where a Registered Driver cannot attend a race event, a Substitute Driver is allowed if all of the following criteria are met:

a) The Substitute Driver is not a Registered Driver.

b) The substitution has been notified to race organisers 1 hour prior to the start of the race event.

1.2.1 Substitute Drivers will score points for the Team but not the Registered Driver.

1.3 Drivers will be classified into weight classes according to their weight without helmets (see Section 5.5 for weight classifications).

2) Teams

2.1 Teams must consist of two drivers.

2.2  Team members’ weight classes are free.

2.3 Teams are allowed unlimited substitutions throughout the season.

3) Classification

3.1 For Grid events, drivers will be classified according to their finishing position at the end of the race event.

3.2 If a driver does not participate in a race event he will be classified as a DNS.

4) Safety Equipment

4.1 All venues require at least a helmet and enclosed footwear.

4.1.2 Some venues will require gloves and/or long sleeved shirts or a race suit. In these circumstances they will be provided by the venue unless stated otherwise.

4.2 You are allowed to use your own equipment (i.e. helmets, gloves, race suit & shoes), however they must comply with the standards of the venue hosting the race event.

4.2.1 This is to be decided by the staff at the venue.

5) Karts & Kebabs 2017 Championship

5.1 The Karts & Kebabs 2018 Individual title will be awarded to the driver who has scored the highest number of points after dropping their worse round out of the first three rounds.

5.1.1 Points for the individual championship will be awarded according to the following scale:

1st:     18 points

2nd:   17 points

3rd:     16 points

4th:     15 points

5th:     14 points

6th:     13 points

7th:     12 points

8th:     11 points

9th:     10 points

10th :   9 point

11th:     8 points

12th:     7 points

13th:     6 points

14th :   5 points

15th:     4 points

16th:     3 points

17th :   2 points

18th & Below:     1 point

Fastest Lap:     1 point

DNS/DNF:   0 points

5.2 The Karts & Kebabs 2018 Team’s title will be award to the team which has scored the highest number of points after dropping their worse round out of the first three rounds.

5.2.1 The Team’s points will be the combination of both drivers’ points.

5.3 Points for each weight class will be awarded according to the following scale:

1st:     10 points

2nd:    9 points

3rd:     8 points

4th:     7 points

5th:     6 points

6th:     5 points

7th:     4 points

8th:     3 points

9th:     2 points

10th & Below:   1 point

DNS/DNF:   0 points

5.4 The drivers finishing first, second and third in the overall Championship will be awarded a trophy at the end of the season.

5.5 The driver that finishes first in each of the following classes will be awarded a trophy at the end of the season:

Light: 65kg & Below

Medium: 66kg to 80kg

Heavy: 81kg & Above

Rookie: First-time competitor, regardless of weight.

5.6 If two or more teams or drivers finish the season with the same number of points, the higher place in the Championship (in either case) shall be awarded to:

a) The holder of the greatest number of first places

b) If the number of first places is the same, the holder of the greatest number of second places.

c) If the number of second places is the same, the holder of the greatest number of third places and so on until a winner emerges.

d) If this procedure fails to produce a result, the organisers of Karts & Kebabs will nominate the winner according to such a criteria as they think fit.

5.7 Race standings as published on Karts & Kebabs’ website are considered final and will be accepted as official results.

6) Kart Selection

6.1 Karts are allocated at random by track staff.

6.2 After each session the drivers will switch karts in the format of a reverse grid.

6.2.1 The staff at the each venue will decide if this is possible.

6.3 If you have a poor performing kart, you may switch karts at the track staff’s discretion.

6.4 If a competitor works at the race venue, they will be the last driver to be assigned to a kart.

7) Costs

7.1 All drivers are to pay an entry fee of $50.00 at the beginning of the season, which will go towards the prizes at the end of the season.

7.1.1 The payment of the entry fee will confirm the registration of the driver.

7.1.2 Payments are non-refundable.

7.2 For each race all drivers must pay on the day of the event. However some event(s) may require a deposit to be paid to advance, if this is the case all drivers will be notified accordingly.
