There will be updates and changes made to the 2018 Championship and the Rules & Regulations will be updated shortly to reflect the following changes.
The overall standings for each category will no longer be calculated based on results from all 4 rounds this year. Instead, it will be the best 3 of 4 rounds, similar to what we’ve done in the past.
Additionally, the final race will be at Picton Karting Track but it will be a Grand Prix Challenge, unlike the Mini GP we’ve done int he past, there will be two races on the day.
The format will be as follows:
- 1 x 5 minute practice, followed by 1 x 10 minute qualifying (determines grid position for Heat 1)
- 1 x 15 lap heat 0ne (approximately 20 minutes to complete)
- 1 x 18 lap Final (approximately 20 minutes to complete)
Points will now be awarded for results in Heat One AND the Final Race as per the points allocation in the Rules & Regulations
The combined results from Heat One and the Final Race will be the overall points awarded for Round 4 of the 2018 Championship. Essentially it’s a 2 in 1 race.
As such, results from Round 4 will most likely not be the one that is dropped in the calculation of the final results for the 2018 Championship.
We hope these changes gives those that missed out on any round this season a chance to make up some spots in the Championship and not be punished for missing a round.
We hope to see a full field out at the final race on the 14th of November at Picton and we look forward to the presentation ceremony that follows and especially the kebabs that follow that!
